Northern Colorado has a real, active local-food scene — farmers markets, CSA farm shares, u-pick orchards, and harvest festivals all draw real crowds every year. But the information about it is scattered across regional news sites, tourism blogs, and individual farm websites that don't link to each other. There wasn't one place to go for "what markets are open this weekend," "which CSA still has shares left," or "where can I actually pick strawberries this month" — so we built one.
NoCo Harvest is edited by a Northern Colorado resident who founded and ran a subscription-based agriculture business in Colorado for five years before moving into operations and small-business systems work. That means the person writing about CSA sign-up windows, u-pick timing, and canning basics has actually managed a harvest calendar, packed a CSA box, and dealt with a season that didn't cooperate with the plan — not just read about it.
That background shapes how this site is written: practical over promotional, honest about what changes year to year (hours, dates, ripeness windows), and focused on the details that actually matter when you're standing at a market stall or driving out to a farm.
